Come, let us make it possible!

Nature gives us so many gifts in many astonishing ways. One such gift is air and atmosphere. Air is the most important component of life through which we get the oxygen to survive. Oxygen in air helps us to respire. Even though we use oxygen every day but it does not get exhausted due to the returning of oxygen by the trees by the process of photosynthesis. Trees not only give oxygen in the atmosphere but also absorb harmful gases which trap heat. But in the world of industrialisation and technology, we seem to have been seeing the cutting of trees and the pollution of atmosphere almost every day which is hazardous for the environment and every living being on Earth. The cutting of trees not only leads to reduction of oxygen level in the air, but also leads to the introduction of many harmful gases such as carbon monoxide, chlorofluorocarbons, etc. which lead to global warming and rise in temperature of Earth. Man-made contributions to the environment and ecosystem such as deforestation and factories release smog, smoke, and other chemical components into the air, thereby polluting the air.

To minimise the effect more accurately, we can take steps to initialise the process of reducing air pollution - The population of the world rounds of to almost 2.5 billion people. If each one of us plants atleast one tree every year, the world will not only lose heat and reduce air pollution, but also preserve the valuable gift given to us by nature. Now-a-days, people seem to have been riding in their own vehicles even when not needed. So we need to prioritise public transport and use efficient ways to introduce carpooling so as to reduce the amount of gases emitted in the atmosphere.

Air Pollution and its Surveys

nature

Earlier the air we breathe in used to be pure and fresh. But, due to increasing concentration of poisonous gases in the environment the air is getting more and more toxic day by day. Air pollution is contamination of the indoor or outdoor environment by any chemical, physical or biological agent that modifies the natural characteristics of the atmosphere. It is also the contamination of the indoor or outdoor environment either by chemical, physical, or biological agents that alter the natural features of the atmosphere. There are many different types of air pollutants, such as gases including ammonia, carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide.
Air pollution and climate change affect each other through complex interactions in the atmosphere. Air pollution is intricately linked with climate change because both problems come largely from the same sources, such as emissions from burning fossil fuels.

Studies

Upon conducting multiple surveys it has been obtained that –

    1) India was declared as the third-most polluted country in 2023, after Bangladesh and Pakistan, according to a report released by Swiss air quality monitoring body, IQAir.
    2) Delhi is the most polluted city in the country and the third most polluted city in the world.
    3) The average temperature of Delhi has increased from 22 degree Celsius to 26 degree Celsius.
    4) 13 of the world's 20 cities with the highest annual levels of air pollution are in India.
    5) As per a study based on 2016 data, at least 140 million people in India breathe air that is 10 times or more over the WHO safe limit.
    6) Some reports, including one by the World Health Organization, claim 300,000 to 400,000 people die of indoor air pollution and carbon monoxide poisoning in India because of biomass burning and use of chullhas.

Sources

Deforestation - Earlier there happens to be a large number of trees which can easily filter the air we breathe in. As the number of plants and trees reduce the carbon dioxide in the air increases and this is a major pollutant, so cutting of trees (deforestation) is a cause of pollution. But with the increase in demand for land, the people started cutting down of trees which caused deforestation. That ultimately reduced the filtering capacity of the tree.

Greenhouse Effect
The greenhouse effect is also the cause of air pollution because air pollution produces the gases that greenhouse involves. Besides, it increases the temperature of earth surface so much that the polar caps are melting and most of the UV rays are easily penetrating the surface of the earth.

What you can do?

For giving a visit to this website, we thank you. Oxygen – Right To Breathe campaign will only be successful when every person will participate in the campaign and spread the message to each and every person in their surroundings. In today's world of industrialisation and competition where we get obviously no time to extend gratitude towards the nature, but the air that we need for survival should be given importance. We are confident that you won't stop just from viewing the first webpage of this website but will visit each and every webpage of this website and read the information giving in the website carefully and informatively. Your positive feedback will be definitely beneficial for the success of this campaign..

If everyone tries to make the world around them a little better, the whole world will change quickly as I alone cannot change the whole world, but with this thought of mine, everyone will defintely be able to change the world. So let us make the world more beautiful, let us change the world.
